The Scone Race Club Board and Staff are very pleased to reveal that yesterday the State Government alongside Racing NSW announced that $20 million has been allocated in the State budget for infrastructure upgrades at the Scone Race Club precinct.

Deputy Premier John Barilaro, Treasurer Dominic Perrottet, Minister Mr Kevin Anderson and local Member Mr David Layzell were joined at the Scone Race Club by Racing NSW’s Chairman Mr Russell Balding and CEO Peter Vlandys in making this historic announcement which forms a large part of a $67million total allocated for regional NSW racecourses.

This funding is to be used for items such as increasing and upgrading on-course stabling and the construction of a poly training surface which will assist in increasing horses trained at the facility by as much as 300%.

This significant industry investment will complement the recent purchase of the Scone TAFE by Racing NSW helping drive industry employment, providing job security and skilled workers to industry participants and partners.

The Scone Race Club Board and Management are very proud to have played a significant role alongside the Hunter Valley Equine Research Centre led by Mr Bill Rose in providing the vision and business case for this substantial state government and industry body investment in Scone.
