*1st Race @ 12.20pm & ALL Races carry a BOBS Silver Bonus available up to $9,625.00:

Track likely Soft 6 with rail forecast and Rail out 5m

*RACE 1 @ 12.20pm SARDOS COFFEE MAIDEN PLATE (900m) – Set Weights; Apprentices Can Claim:

We start with the maidens over the short course. The slight drop back in distance and likely downgrade to around Soft 6 or even worse are right up the alley of speedy three-year-old filly 7. MINNITI (Sam Cavanagh/Aaron Bullock; 57kg) who can break a run of four straight placings at her fifth start. Drawn out wide, but has the tactical speed to get over, and revels on soft ground.

*MAIN DANGERS: Plenty of them headed by talented provincial Scissor Kick filly 9. Sheer Success who resumes from a six month spell off a forward trial, with a significant gear change. Big market watch on home track Hinchinbrook three-year-old 2. Eureka who debuts in blinkers behind two progressive trials; while included in exotics another local filly 8. Miss Kingston who returns off a long break, although some query on rain-affected ground; and debutant two-year old Shamus Award filly 11. Almorah who has trialled okay despite being slow away and draws to get an economical run.

Likely Tempo: Good to Strong

My Betting Attack: MINNITI to WIN & Box Exacta 2,7,9

*RACE 2 @ 12.55pm THANK YOU DONNA McKINNON 3YO MAIDEN HCP (1100m) – Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:

Plenty of factors at play in this deep and challenging maiden as well. Like the big early value about Dundeel three-year-old gelding 3. MYDEEL (Paul Messara/Aaron Bullock; 59kg) who debuts at home off a trial where he sat on speed, and a leading country rider is aboard. Bred to handle any downgrades being out of a I Am Invincible mare.

*MAIN DANGERS: Lightly raced three-three-year-old filly 10. Love Is In The Air has been given six weeks since a flat run in a stronger provincial maiden. Has since trialled, and is much better weighted back on her home track. Keep safe resuming provincial filly 13. L’esperance Rock who was strong through the line winning a recent trial. Provincial filly 6. Valreine was no match for the winner at Wyong in heavy ground, but better suited on the bigger track at only her third start.

Likely Tempo: Solid

My Betting Attack: MYDEEL Each Way & Exacta: 3,10/3,6,10,13

*RACE 3 @ 1.35pm GHAIYYATH @ DARLEY BENCHMARK 66 HCP (1700m) – Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:

Further out in distance we go for one of the better bets on the card. Progressive provincial five-year-old 2. OCEAN GO (Kristen Buchanan/Koby Jennings; 61.5kg) only needs a clear shot at them from the 500m to produce the dominant closing sectional. Wasn’t far away in a stronger metro race before twice hitting the line from well back at Newcastle. At peak fitness and even better suited on the long sweeping stretch here.

*MAIN DANGERS: Emerging three-year-old and last start CL3 winner 4. Theo Region isn’t well weighted, but is also hard fit, and the more rain comes down the stronger case he has. Must include tough provincial four-year-old 6. Sapphires Son fifth-up who has never missed a place from seven starts at this track; while locally-trained duo five-year-old 9. Magic Charlee and four-year-old mare 10. Lunasnit are both over the odds.

Likely Tempo: Fair to Solid

My Betting Attack: OCEAN GO to WIN & Trifecta: 2,4,6/2,4,6,9,10/2,4,6,9,10

*RACE 4 @ 2.10pm THOROUGHBRED INDUSTRY CAREERS MAIDEN HCP (1300m) – Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:

Tricky maiden, although progressive local filly 13. SPRITZA SPERITZA (Rodney Northam/Daniel Northey; 55kg) can break through third-up with winkers added. Has attacked the line nicely in two runs back, and from a lovely trailing draw is very well treated on the limit weight.

Dangers: Home track three-year-old and stablemate to top selection 1. Steplee has drawn the outside gate, but his fast-finishing effort on debut behind promising stablemate Mr Whitacre who has since won again was full of merit. Will go back and be saved for one late run. Improving filly 5. Swiss Scent can peak fourth-up after working home okay in a handy maiden at Dubbo; while looking for a market move on provincial first starter 9. Grecian Lass who has been given plenty of time at the trials.

Likely Tempo: Solid

My Betting Attack: SPRITZA SERITZA to WIN & Quinella: 1 and 13

*RACE 5 @ 2.50pm EARTHLIGHT @ DARLEY CLASS 1 HCP (1300m) – Min Weight 5kg; Apprentices can Claim:

Good competitive race for this grade. Very keen on home track four-year-old 4. SPILT (Rodney Northam/Reece Jones a0kg; 57kg) despite letting punters down as a well backed favourite second-up. A much different story returning home to the much bigger track, and with winkers a significant gear addition, expect him to be ridden quieter before powering over them late.

*MAIN DANGERS: Progressive provincial three-year-old 3. Prince Akeem fought on well third-up in a race with good depth, and will get a charmed run right behind the speed. Under-rated filly 6. Sparky Girl hasn’t won for a long time but she motored home in heavy ground at Taree fourth-up, and the wetter the better. Honest five-year-old 8. Swordsman hasn’t finished further back than fourth in his last five, and backs up in 12 days; while another one trained on the track, four-year-old mare 7. Miss Efficiency was an impressive maiden winner two starts back, and is clear best of the rest.

Likely Tempo: Solid to Good

My Betting Attack: SPILT to WIN & Box Exacta: 3,4,6

*RACE 6 @ 3.25pm HAPPY TOOTH SCONE CLASS 1 HCP (1600m) – Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:

There’s a real sense of timing here about local three-year-old gelding 3. REACH BEYOND (Scott Singleton/Christian Reith; 58kg) who can go back-to-back after finishing nicely to beat a handy maiden field at Muswellbrook. Creeps up a little more in distance, and draws to get the right trail just off the speed. By an emerging wet track sire out of a Japanese-bred mare.

*MAIN DANGERS: Improving provincial five-year-old 1. Destacado has been solid enough in two runs back, although needs to find a length or two up in trip and weight. Don’t dismiss five-year-old 12. Hillandale despite having only one win from 20 starts. Has been hitting the line better than ever this prep, in-form jockey takes over, and will relish the long run home here. Must keep safe local three-year-old 9. Switch Play fourth up returning to a somewhat drier track after flopping badly on a bog Heavy 10 at Tamworth.

Likely Tempo: Fair

My Betting Attack: REACH BEYOND to WIN

*RACE 7 @ 4.05pm MICROPHONE @ DARLEY BENCHMARK 58 HCP (1400m) – Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:

Intriguing and fairly open battle. Tough local five-year-old 1. NOWYUNOMI (Darren Egan/Reece Jones a0kg; 61kg) may go to the CL3 Highway at Randwick on Saturday, but either way, he’s at the top of his game this prep. Emerged strongly through the Winter Series to win a good quality Final in smart fashion at Dubbo. Thrives on rain-affected ground, and is a proven weight carrier.

*MAIN DANGERS: Promising and lightly raced three-year-old 4. McNair is still on the rise after charging home for a dominant maiden win at Coffs. Was preferred here to an earlier race, although not totally convinced the inside draw at this track late in the day does him any favours. Dubbo five-year-old 7. Ollivander will likely zoom across from a wide barrier and take up the lead, and can prove hard to catch. Hard fit and bolted in from the front last start, although does rise 3kg. Having broken a lengthy drought, capable five-year-old 9. Heredero can figure again on a track he has a 50 percent winning strike rate on from four starts.

Likely Tempo: Solid

How to play it: NOWYUNOMI to WIN & Box Trifecta: 1,4,7,9

*RACE 8 @ 4.40pm BLUE POINT @ DARLEY BENCHMARK 58 HCP (1100m) – Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:

We wrap it up in the same grade over a shorter journey, and super keen on promising provincial filly 12. PLEADING (Angela Davies/Andrew Gibbons; 57.5kg) who surged home for a dominant first-up maiden win off a long break. Has trained on nicely, and drawn to settle back around midfield on a track she will enjoy, and charge over the top.

*MAIN DANGERS: Talented home track filly 11. Baiyka has found the line well in two runs back. Blinkers have been added, and the extra 200m is a big plus. Keep safe provincial three-year-old 3. Defiant Heart who revelled in the going to claim his maiden at Gosford despite being unwanted in betting, and the forecast of rain keeps him well in the contest.

Likely Tempo: Solid to Good

My Betting Attack: PLEADING to WIN & Quinella: 11 and 12
