Stephen Jones trained ‘AKASAKI’ led all the way to win Race 5 – #TheRaces Handicap 1100m much to the delight of the winning connections including Committee man Warren Turner and local Publican Ian Campbell.
Dubbo Friday 21st July, 2017
A good day at Dubbo for our local trainers. The partnership of Peter Bloomfield and Rachael Murray was enough to take home a win with ‘MR CASSON’ in first, the CG&E Maiden Plate 1040m.
Brett Cavanough finished the day with a 1st and 2nd. ‘SPOTTY SOCKS’ won the Class 1 HCP F&M 1340m and ‘EIFFEL TOWER’ came second in the Maiden Plate F&M 1040m.
Rod Northam also came away with a placing with ‘AUGUSTA IN APRIL’ coming 2nd in the Maiden Hcp 1640m.

With this being our last meeting for the Premiership season, the Trainer and Jockey Premierships were all but decided heading into the day of racing. Results are as follows:

3 Andrew Gibbons 9 wins, 7 seconds & 3 thirds
Congratulations to both Kris and Rachael for a fantastic season at Scone. A presentation of trophies will be done at our next race meeting on Tuesday 8th August.
