SUCCESS OFF THE BACK OF DARLEY SCONE CUP CARNVAL

Canterbury Park races on Wednesday 24th May saw some great results for a number of trainers and horses who raced in Scone over the weekend of the 12th and 13th May.

The Gary Portelli trained Lipizzan which ran 2nd in the Segenhoe Stud Woodlands Stakes 1100m at Scone, had a strong win yesterday in the TAB.COM.AU Hcp 1100m.

A Scone Carnival quinella came at Canterbury yesterday out of The Widden Stud Class 1 Hcp 1100m run on Friday 12th May. This race proved a great lead up to the Ranvet Hcp 1250m for Ghostly (trained by Darren Beadman) and Aquatic (trained by Chris Waller) who ran 1st and 2nd consecutively.

While San Pablo (trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott) wasn’t in the placings at Scone on Saturday 13th in the Kia Ora Stud BM 78 2200m, though ran 2nd in the TAB Hcp 1900m.

Thaad from the Hawkes stables picked up a third placing in the Schweppes Hcp 1580m off the back of a 5th place in the Inglis 3YO Guineas.

Great results coming off the back of the successful 2 day Scone carnival. Well done to all connections.
